Zero Hour: Cancellation Reactions from the Cast

zero hour canceled? As you may have already heard, Zero Hour has been cancelled by ABC after only three episodes. The news doesn’t come as a surprise as the debut represented ABC’s worst scripted premiere in the history of their regular seasons. The numbers for episodes two and three were even worse.

Still, there were at least five million or so people who made a point of watching Zero Hour each week. They’re understandably upset about the cancellation news — as are members of the cast.

Addison Timlin (Rachel): “The end of zerohour brings me great sadness, but every ending is a new beginning and that is always laced with hope. Thank you all, truly.” “What to the world was just 3 episodes was a whole year for us. Truly an honor to know, work with and love you, to everyone on the team. Xo”

Jacinda Barrett (Laila): agreed with Timlin’s second statement and added, “couldn’t have said it better. Xxxx”

Carmen Ejogo (Beck): “In a NY minute everything can change In a NY minute things can get a little strange” “#nomorezerohour I guess that means I can start watching American Idol again. #alwayslookonthebrightsideoflife” “I believe process is often more important than outcome. I had the BEST time making @ZeroHour_ABC with everyone all year, so #noregretsbaby”

Scott Michael Foster (Aaron): “I absolutely loved #ZeroHour and everyone who worked on it. Will miss filming one of the coolest and enjoyable shows I’ve been on.” “To all my wonderful twitter followers, you make the hard part of this job so much easier with your kind words and support. Thank you.”

What do you think? What was your reaction to Zero Hour being cancelled? What did you think of the work of the show’s cast and crew?

At this point, why bother watching anything on ABC? I liked Zero Hour and now it is cancelled, replaced by Shark Tank? really? When they finally get a TV show like Zero Hour with substance, they cancel it. Another disappointment, won’t be duped into watching another “start up”, just to have it cancelled once it developed a following.

My husband and I both loved Zero Hour and are extremely disappointed that ABC has cancelled another great show without giving it a chance. Please make it available on-line, put it back on during a different time slot, or run the remaining episodes during the summer. What will happen to the remaining episodes that the actors have already been paid for if they aren’t run somewhere? What a waste of money if they aren’t shown. This is one of the few ABC shows that was worth watching…you actually had to pay attention and use your brain! The so-called reality shows that ABC continues to broadcast are a complete waste of time. ABC should remember that all TV watchers are not within their preferred demographic age-range. Many of us are older.

This was a great show. Such a shame that they canceled it. I think the problem was that they didn’t advertise the show enough. If it wasn’t for once upon a time, I dont think i would have known about the show. I tested my theory on my friends and asked if they heard of the show. They all said no. I got them to watch the first episode and each and every one of them loved it so much they stayed up all night to watch all three episodes. The topic of the show is great and I find myself wanting more each week I saw the new one (even though it was only 3 episodes). If ZeroHour was given another shot, I believe improvement in the promotion of the will get them a ton of more viewers. if they aren’t given another shot, I hope the series comes out on DVD or something. I would love to see how it ends.

In total agreement with everyone else! Absolutely loved Zero Hour. Talked about each episode with my family and eagerly awaited each new episode. Always use DVR due to my schedule and was seriously upset when there was no new episode last night…then I read about the cancellation today. So incredibly disappointed in ABC. Desperately hoping another network picks it up or ABC gives us the deserved pleasure of watching the remaining 10 shows this summer…heck run the series in middle of the night, a primetime regular time slot shouldn’t matter since so many people use DVRs. Kudos to the creators, writers, cast and crew on a very intriguing adventure.

Starting a show of this calibor in mid season was your bigest mistake. It was a very
different type of show something better than all the guts and gore df other shows.

I cannot believe this show has been cancelled….so hard to find anything worth watching and something good comes out and it’s cancelled? I would much rather watch something like this then all the reality show crap that’s on…

I have cancelled watching ABC, after learning of another good show being scrapped. Bachelor, Wife Swap?? COME ON !!

Molly March 8, 2013 at 4:48 pm

ABC totally sucks. They only have one good night of programming because they insist on airing ridiculous shows like the Bachelor. Zero Hour is an intriguing show but how stupid can you be putting it up against Big Bang Theory?
