TV show description:
This dramedy is based on the film of the same name which was in turn loosely based on Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew. The show revolves around two high-school aged sisters who couldn’t be more different. One is a social butterfly and the other wants to save the world but they’re both working to fit in, having just moved to a new school.

Kat Stratford (Lindsey Shaw) is a cool feminist with a sharp wit. She doesn’t enjoy the high school life and wants to get out as soon as possible. There’s a soft side to her somewhere, but she’s not likely to let you see it.

In contrast, Kat’s sister Bianca (Meghan Martin) loves everything about the high school life and knows how to get what she wants out of it. At her old school she was quite popular, and she now plans to do everything she can to achieve that status here.

Walter Stratford (Larry Miller) is the sisters’ dad, an OB/GYN and single. He runs a strict household, wanting to keep his daughters to a certain sense of his idea of decency.

Patrick Verona (Ethan Peck) is the epitome of a dark, brooding teenage boy. He’s mysterious and unsettling, and he rather likes it that way. He’s just the type of guy for Kat.

Cameron James (Nicholas Braun) is the classic “nice guy.” He’s very attracted to Bianca, but doesn’t have a lot of experience with girls.

Chastity Church (Dana Davis) is the head cheerleader, and at the top of the social ladder, is sitting right where Bianca wants to be.

Series Finale:
Episode 20 — Revolution
The cheerleaders get ready for a sexy car wash fundraiser. Chastity is worried that the other cheerleaders are plotting something and decides to make Bianca vice head cheerleader. Bianca and Chastity pretend to have a fight so that the other girls will trust and confide in Bianca. The fight unfortunately spirals out of control. Chastity gets kicked off the cheerleading squad and Michelle becomes head cheerleader. In protest, Bianca and Dawn quit the squad as well. Chastity announces that if she’s not reinstated as head cheerleader, she is going to leave Padua for another school.

Kat and Blank compete for the attention of the college admissions officer from Brown. As they try to one up each other, Kat announces her intentions to run for student body president opposite Blank. Cameron helps Kat produce a campaign rap video. At the last minute, Blank’s friend Tabitha sabotages Kat by releasing an out-of-context video in which Kat bad mouths the other kids at school.

Kat is left feeling very upset and finds that her car has been vandalized. She then sees that Patrick is holding a sign that proclaims that he voted for her in the election, even though he’d previously declared that he never voted in student elections. He gives her a hug and a ride home.

On TV, Bianca and Dawn watch The Biggest Poser with Cameron, where they see a female model kissing Joey.

Kat and Bianca’s dad returns home early from his work conference and goes upstairs to comfort Kat — only to find Patrick and Kat in bed together after making love.
First aired: May 31, 2010.
