TV show description:
Stranded in a remote Louisiana bayou, a group of 13 people compete to stay alive while facing their deepest, darkest fears. In an all-out elimination competition and scarefest, they’re pitted against each other in shocking situations pulled straight out of horror movies. The contestants face shocking surprises, psychological scares and lots of “beware of the dark” moments — all designed by a mysterious “mastermind” of terror.

In addition to frightening them out of their wits, the mastermind also entices the players to work with him, against their fellow contestants. As a result, each person in the game must watch out for the terrors as well as duplicities from one other.

Each week, one or two unlucky victims are “killed off” in horrific ways — including suffocation from being buried alive, eaten alive by rats, crushed by a falling tree, burned alive at the stake and crushed in the the trunk of a car. The one person left alive wins a fitting grand prize — $66,666.

Series Finale:
Episode Eight – Boom
Ted Kirner, Nasser Goins, and Erica Johnson are the three contestants that remain at the start of the episode. They are taken to an isolated part of the woods in the Bayou and forced to outwit each other in the final ceremonies. The Execution Ceremony is called “Alone in the Woods.”

In the first segment, the contestants must locate one of three death boxes that have been hidden in the woods and kill off another contestant. Johnson is “killed by a minion wielding an axe” by Goins.

In segment two, Goins and Kirner try to be the first to find bolt cutters in an animal grave, find a barrel, cut it open, and obtain the key that’s covered in body organs. Kirner wins.

In the last part, Kirner must use the key to unlock a hut and escape with the prize money in a brown aper bag before the structure explodes. At first, it appears that the “mastermind” is in the building but it’s actually just a dummy wearing a solid white mask.
First aired: February 20, 2009.
