2 Broke Girls: Premiere Ratings

2 Broke Girls ratingsThe new CBS comedy 2 Broke Girls had a very promising premiere last night and beat last season’s debut of Mike & Molly by nearly 80%. Per the fast affiliate ratings, the new sitcom registered a stellar 7.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 19.15 million viewers.

It was, not surprisingly, first in its timeslot and beat the usually dominant Dancing with the Stars in both categories. Of course, these excellent numbers were largely due to the fact that 2 Broke Girls followed the season premiere of Two and a Half Men with Ashton Kutcher. That brought in record viewership for the series with a 10.3 rating and 27.76 million total viewers.

Next week, 2 Broke Girls moves to its regular 8:30pm timeslot, following How I Met Your Mother. The numbers will surely come down quite a lot but this week’s timeslot gave 2 Broke Girls a great launch and amount of exposure. CBS couldn’t have given it a better shot at survival. What happens after this is all up to the cast and crew.

What do you think? Did you watch the debut of 2 Broke Girls? Do you think it’ll survive or be cancelled?
