24: Fox Says Sutherland “Overly Optimistic” about Movie

After reports of an uncertain future for the proposed 24 movie, actor Kiefer Sutherland recently said that the project was moving forward and he planned to start filming in about eight months. A publicist for 20th Century Fox says that the actor is being “overly optimistic.”

According to THR, the publicist also said that, “The project is still in development, with no director attached. All the other details have been reported.”

As fans of the show already know, a 24 movie script was written last year but it was rejected and that development put the project on hold. Howard Gordon, a writer and executive producer on the 24 TV series said that he’d heard director Tony Scott had an idea for the feature film and was planning to run it by Sutherland.

What do you think? Will the movie start filming this year or is Sutherland being “overly optimistic.”
