HBO and NBC are gettin’ rad. According to the Hollywood Reporter, both networks have picked up comedy projects from Adam and Naomi Scott’s production company, Gettin’ Rad.
HBO has bought the Homeland security comedy Deep S.I.X., and NBC has picked up Donuthead, a single-camera comedy about a mother-son relationship.
Deep S.I.X. is being described as a series about “a rag-tag Homeland security team that no one believes in as they investigate paranormal threats that no one believes in.” On the other hand, Donuthead will follow the imagination of an “an anxiety-ridden 11-year old boy” who lives with his single mother.
Broad City‘s Anthony King is slated to write the pilot script for Deep S.I.X. while Irene Mecchi, of Brave, and Bridget Terry will write the pilot for Donuthead. Both Scotts will serve as executive producers for both series.
