Adventure Time: Fred Seibert Teases a New Project Based on Big Video Game

Castlevania TV show

Could it finally be happening? IndieWire reports Adventure Time EP Fred Seibert might be adapting the popular video game Castlevania as a TV series.

First released in 1986, the Konami action-adventure game follows Simon Belmont, a vampire hunter trying to kill Dracula. Since its initial launch, nearly 30 games have been released in the franchise, which also includes toys, a graphic novel, and collector’s cards.

During a recent appearance on Nickelodeon’s “Nick Animation Podcast,” Seibert revealed his plans to adapt “one of the most world famous video games of the last 30 years.” While Seibert did not name the project, his studio—Frederator Studios—has owned the rights to Castlevania for years and the description fits the bill.

Meanwhile, season eight of Adventure Time premieres on January 23rd on Cartoon Network.
