The Alienist has some new company. Deadline reports Falk Hentschel has joined TNT’s upcoming TV series.
Based on the book by Caleb Carr, the drama follows a criminal psychologist, Dr. Laszlo Kreizler (Daniel Brühl), and a newspaper illustrator as they investigate a string of gruesome murders in 1890s New York City.
Hentschel will play “Biff Ellison, an extremely corrupt mobster who runs illegal brothels and bars in the city.” He joins fellow cast members Luke Evans, Sean Astin, Dakota Fanning, Robert Wisdom, Q’orianka Kilcher, Matt Lintz, Matthew Shear, and Douglas Smith.
The Alienist is slated to premiere later this year on TNT.
