Dick Clark Prods. has digitized the archived footage of American Bandstand, American Music Awards, Golden Globe Awards, Academy of Country Music Awards, “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, So You Think You Can Dance, The Dick Clark Saturday Night Beechnut Show, and other programs in the company’s extensive library.
The clips will soon be available to browse, preview, and license online via a new website. “By digitizing our vast library, we are now able to provide an updated archive service for both traditional and nontraditional forms of entertainment and news for commercial purposes,” said Orly Adelson, president of Dick Clark Prods.
Footage of Bandstand was used extensively in the American Dreams dramatic series that ran for three seasons on NBC. The series was co-produced by Dick Clark Prods and seasons two and three have yet to be released on DVD because of music licensing.
