An extended trailer has surfaced for ABC‘s second season of John Ridley’s limited series, American Crime (not to be confused with the impending FX true crime drama, American Crime Story).

Season two of American Crime premieres on ABC, Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at 10:00pm ET/PT, in Nashville‘s slot. American Crime stars Felicity Huffman as Leslie Graham; Timothy Hutton as Dan Sullivan; Lili Taylor as Anne Blaine; Elvis Nolasco as Chris Dixon; and Regina King as Terri LaCroix.

Set in two heartland high schools, American Crime season two focuses on sexual identity and socioeconomic inequality. After a party, Taylor Blaine (Connor Jessup), accuses two private school basketball stars, Kevin LaCroix (Trevor Jackson) and Eric Tanner (Joey Pollari), of drugging, and raping him, then posting the pictures to social media. Meanwhile, Taylor’s girlfriend, Evy Dominguez (Angelique Rivera), attends a public school, rife with racial tensions. Recurring in season two are Andre Benjamin as Michael Lacroix; Hope Davis as Steph Sullivan; and Richard Cabral as Sebastian De La Torre.
