TV show description:
An update of the popular 1990s syndicated series, the show pits amateur athletes against each other as well as the show’s cast of “gladiators.” They compete in multiple contests of strength, agility, and endurance.

A dozen men and a dozen women compete in various matches with the gladiators for points. The games take place in the show’s giant arena, frequently suspended high in the air or taking place over water.

The two top-scoring men and women compete against each other in a single-elimination tournament called the Eliminator. The individual winners return later in the season to compete against each other as part of the “final eight.” The winners of those rounds return to fight in the championship round. The Grand Championship winners each receive $100,000, a new car and the option to become a gladiator on the show.

The series is hosted by semi-retired professional wrestler Hulk Hogan and professional boxer Laila Ali (who is also the daughter of Muhammad Ali).

Series Finale:

Episode 20
In the two-hour season finale, the remaining two men and two women compete for a spot in the final round. The finalists are Tim Oliphant, Mike Gamble, Ally Davidson, and Tiffaney Florentine. Oliphant and Davidson became the top male and female, respectively.

Oliphant is the ultimate winner, taking home a cash prize of $100,000 and a 2008 Toyota Sequoia. In season one, the winner also had the option to become a Gladiator for the next season but this wasn’t included as a prize in season two.
First aired: August 4, 2008.
