John Cena’s back with a new cadre of military heroes for a second season of the American Grit TV show on FOX. While Cena and company were tough enough to earn a renewal the first time out, can this new group score a success? Will American Grit be cancelled or renewed for season three? Stay tuned.
On American Grit, 17 men and women, who have either lost or never had much grit, are split into four teams. Together, they will face a variety of military-grade and survival-themed challenges on this FOX reality series. Cena and an elite group of military mentors (John Burk, Riki Long, Chloe Mondesir, and Grady Powell) will push the civilian competitors beyond their limits. In the end, one could win $250,000.00.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. For comparisons: The first season of American Grit averaged a 0.65 rating in the 18-49 year old demographic and 1.996 million viewers.
