American Horror Story: Season Seven to Follow 2016 Election

American Horror Story is getting political. On a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, executive producer Ryan Murphy revealed season seven of the FX series will tackle the 2016 presidential election, Variety reports.

Season six of the anthology drama, My Roanoke Nightmare, explored the mystery behind the disappearance of the 16th century Roanoke Colony in North Carolina. The cast included  Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, Cuba Gooding Jr., Lily Rabe, Andre Holland, Denis O’Hare, Wes Bentley, Evan Peters, and Cheyenne Jackson. The season finished in November 2016.

On Watch What Happens Live, Murphy told Cohen he didn’t have a title yet, but season seven of American Horror Story will be about the election:

Well, I don’t have a title, but the season we begin shooting in June is going to be about the election that we just went through. So I think that will be interesting for a lot of people.”

Cohen asked if there will be a Trump character, and Murphy responded with a “maybe.” Shooting for season seven of the FX series begins in June.
