American Idol: Season 14 Ratings (Thurs)

American Idol TV show ratings (cancel or renew?)While the ratings for American Idol continue to fall lower and lower, it’s remained FOX’s top show. Will they continue to drop or will they start to rebound this time around? Could the ratings fall low enough to see the series cancelled? Stay tuned.

Hosted by Ryan Seacrest, American Idol typically airs twice a week, on Wednesday and Thursday nights, for only part of the season. For the first time, the results will be wrapped into the performance episodes. Harry Connick Jr., Jennifer Lopez, and Keith Urban return to the judge’s table.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — typically the following morning, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.

3/20 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.

Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.

Reference point: The Thursday episodes from season 13 averaged a 2.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.33 million total viewers.

Note: These are the final national numbers (unless noted with an “*”). These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.

What do you think? Do you like the American Idol TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a 15th season? Would you keep these judges?
