American Woman: Paramount Releases Trailer for Drama Set in 1970s

American Woman TV show on Paramount: season 1 (canceled or renewed?)

“We are all stronger than we think we are.” Paramount Network has just released a first look at their new TV show, American Woman.

Based on the childhood of Real Housewives star Kyle Richards, the dramedy follows “follows Bonnie (Alicia Silverstone), an unconventional mother struggling to raise her two daughters after leaving her husband amid the rise of second-wave feminism in 1970s Los Angeles.” The cast also includes Mena Suvari and Jennifer Bartels.

American Woman premieres on Paramount Network on June 7th at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

Inspired by the real-life upbringing of Kyle Richards (“Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”), “American Woman” follows Bonnie (Alicia Silverstone), an unconventional mother struggling to raise her two daughters after leaving her husband amid the rise of second-wave feminism in 1970s Los Angeles.

Bonnie also comes to rely on the help of her two best friends, Kathleen (Mena Suvari) and Diana (Jennifer Bartels), as they each discover their own brand of independence in a glamorous and ever-changing world reluctant to give it. The series also stars Cheyenne Jackson (“American Horror Story,” “30 Rock”) and James Tupper (“Big Little Lies,” “Revenge”.)”
