Deadline reports Brandon J. Dirden has been promoted to series regular for the fifth and sixth (final) seasons of The Americans TV show on FX. The actor has recurred as FBI Agent Dennis Aderholt since the season three premiere, “EST Men.” He also recurred as Williams on the Public Morals TV show, which was cancelled after one season on TNT.
Recently, Richard Thomas’s Frank Gaad was written out of the 1980s KGB spy drama, which may have paved the way for Dirden’s promotion. He is also playing Leon in Baz Luhrmann’s The Get Down TV series, for Netflix. Per Deadline, Dirden starred on Broadway opposite Bryan Cranston as Martin Luther King Jr. in All the Way.
