Anchorwoman debuted with a double dose of half-hour episodes last night. Despite lots of promotion, the episodes attracted an average of just 2.7 million viewers. This poor showing put them in a distant fourth place for the 8-9pm hour — even lagging behind reruns of According to Jim. As a result, Anchorwoman has been pulled from the FOX schedule, less than 24 hours after its debut.
FOX had ordered eight episodes of the series and the remaining six will be released via FOX.com and the network’s page on MySpace. Repeats of ‘Til Death will replace Anchorwoman on Wednesday nights for the next three weeks. Stay tuned!
