APB: Pilot Order from FOX for Person of Interest Producer

Shots Fired TV show on FOX: season one

FOX has ordered a new police drama TV series pilot, APB, from David Slack. Slack writes and executive produces Person of Interest, which is likely to be cancelled after the current fifth season, or not, depending on whether you listen to CBS or JJ Abrams.

Slack is set to write APB and executive produce with Len Wiseman, a co-creator of FOX’s supernatural historical fantasy drama, Sleepy Hollow. Wiseman will direct the APB pilot.

Speaking of Sleepy Hollow, during the recent TCA winter press tour, FOX Co-Chair and CEO, Dana Walden said the network is happy with the show’s creative direction in its current third season. A season four renewal will depend on multi-platform performance. Read about it, here.

Back to APB — here is how Variety describes the APB TV show pilot:

“A.P.B.” is about a tech billionaire who purchases a troubled police precinct in the wake of a loved one’s murder. The series will explore if the eccentric and enigmatic figure’s cutting-edge approach can fix the broken ways of the blue blooded veterans.

FOX has just ordered another procedural drama TV series pilot, Recon, from the creative minds behind The CW‘s fang-tastic TV show, The Vampire Diaries. Read about it, here.

Variety adds:

Both pilots [Recon and APB] join Fox’s slate of dramas in contention for the 2016-17 season, which include a new spin on “The Exorcist,” female-led baseball drama “Pitch,” an untitled girl band music project from “Empire’s” Lee Daniels and the “24” revival series, which will star Corey Hawkins. The network has also greenlit two event series: “Shots Fired,” starring Sanaa Lathan, which aims to reflect recent racial tensions surrounding police shootings making headlines, and the hotly-anticipated return of “Prison Break.”
