Are You There, Chelsea?: Premiere Ratings

Are You There Chelsea ratingsCould it be that NBC is starting to have some good luck? Last night, the peacock network unveiled their new sitcom — Are You There, Chelsea? — and the ratings weren’t too bad.

Per the fast affiliate ratings, the new series drew a 2.3 in the 18-49 demographic and 6.643 million viewers. Chelsea built out of its Whitney lead-in by nearly 10% in the key demo.

Compared to the last original episode of Up All Night, which aired in December, NBC was up by 21%. Compared to last year’s timeslot holder, a repeat of Minute to Win It, the peacock network was up by 53% in the demographic.

If Chelsea maintains these numbers, it will be the second-highest rated scripted series on NBC this season, behind The Office. By NBC standards, Are You There, Chelsea? opened very well. Though the network execs are likely very happy, they’re probably also holding their breath until they see how much drop off there is next week.

What do you think? Do you think the ratings for Chelsea will stay at about the same level or drop off in week two? Did you watch? Did you like or do think it should be cancelled and replaced with something else?
