Arrow: Should Season Five Be the Final Season for the CW Series?

Arrow

Is Arrow shutting down shop? Recently, EP Marc Guggenheim and star Stephen Amell spoke with Entertainment Weekly about season five of the The CW series.

The DC drama follows billionaire playboy Oliver Queen (Amell) as he transforms into the crime-fighting superhero Green Arrow. The cast also includes Katie Cassidy, David Ramsey, Willa Holland, Paul Blackthorne, Emily Bett Rickards, Manu Bennett, and John Barrowman.

In the interview, Guggenheim says season five will explore the show’s history:

[But] in season 5, we’re probably telling more stories about the conflicting moralities of what Oliver’s been doing over the life of the series. Everything we’ve been trying to do in season 5 has been building off of our history, our long history, because that’s something that the other shows just can’t do.”

He also revealed that the flashback storyline does not spell the end of Arrow:

I think we tend to look at season 5 as the end of a particular chapter.

But Amell says that the season will be a test:

I do really believe that this season is sort of a throw-down-the-gauntlet year for us, where we’re either going to do what we do and do it well or it’s the last year. If we find that magic formula — which is not magic, it’s just hard work and playing to your strengths — then the show could go on for a really long time.”

What do you think? Do you watch Arrow? Do you think the show should end after season five?
