Arrow is returning to CW in October with its fifth season, and there was big news out of a new New Jersey fan appearance over the weekend. According to Zap2It, Stephen Amell announced at the event that former WWE star Cody Rhodes will guest star on the upcoming season.
There was no word on what role the wrestler will play, but Rhodes is looking to break into acting after his departure from the WWE. Rhodes and Amell wrestled each other in the ring during last year’s WWE Summer Slam. Since then, the pair have become friends.
Amell shared video of the announcement on his Facebook page. Check that out below.
During the announcement, he said, “We have a new guest star on ‘Arrow’ this year: Mr. Cody Rhodes. I’m so fired up for this guy; he and I haven’t really had much of a chance to talk about it but we’ve been friends for a little over a year now. I know that Cody has really wanted to get into the acting business. He went to LA, he read for a part, and his deal closed yesterday and the dude is going to be on ‘Arrow’ and I’m so fired up.”
