TV show description:
In this fantasy TV series, Jason (Jack Donnelly) is a young man whose father disappeared years ago when he was a child. He pilots a one-man submarine to investigate a deep sea disturbance. When he gets close, the sub fails, he’s pulled into a white light, and Jason ends up on the shores of the ancient fabled kingdom of Atlantis.

A magical place filled with legendary creatures, secrets and deceit, Atlantis is ruled by traditional King Minos (Alexander Siddig) and his manipulative wife, Queen Pasiphae (Sarah Parish).

He’s befriended by a pair of unlucky locals — an overweight, hard-drinking former prize fighter named Hercules (Mark Addy) and Pythagoras (Robert Emms), an intellectual who’s very fond of triangles. The three encounter monsters, gods and demigods, as they live the Greek myths and battle to do good and protect the innocent.

Before long, Jason catches the eye and heart of the beautiful Ariadne, the princess of Atlantis whose family and royal standing restricts who she may love. This brings the young man face-to-face with the treachery of Queen Pasiphae.

Thankfully, Jason finds guidance and protection with the revered Oracle (Juliet Stevenson). He learns that Oracle was expecting him. It’s no mistake that he found the shores of the famed city -– it was fate.
