Netflix is exploring what it means to be normal. Deadline reports the streaming service has ordered a new series called Atypical.
From The Goldbergs EPs Robia Rashid and Seth Gordon, the comedy “follows Sam (Keir Gilchrist), an 18-year-old on the autistic spectrum on his search for love and independence. His funny yet painful journey of self-discovery upends his entire family, forcing them to grapple with change in their own lives as they struggle with the central theme: What does it really mean to be normal?” Jennifer Jason Leigh and Michael Rapaport also star.
Rashid and Gordon are set to executive produce the series alongside Mary Rohlich. Atypical begins production later this year.
