SPOILER ALERT. Bates Motel ended its fourth season on Monday night on A&E, and it ended with a shocker. A series based on Psycho had to see Norma die eventually right?
After the finale aired, TV Line released a new interview with the executive producers of the series, Kerry Ehrin and Carlton Cuse, and they revealed what will happen on the series next season, which they revealed is their last.
Cuse said the following:
“We wanted the final season to allow us to do our version of the Psycho lore. We will be colliding with certain events in the narrative of the film, but it would be boring to just recreate Psycho.”
It was also revealed that fans will see more of Vera Farmiga next season. Norma may be dead in the real world, but she will live on in Norman’s mind. Fans will see the odd relationship between Norman and his mother continue on in season five.
Another TV Line report released after the finale revealed that Marion Crane from the film will play a big part of Bates Motel season five. She will appear in several episodes of the series.
