In September 2013, DC Comics started publishing a comic book series based on the TV show called Batman ’66. The illustrations and stories echo the style of the TV series and revive characters not seen in years. That series ran its course and was cancelled earlier this year, after 30 issues.
While Batman ’66 comics won’t be issued monthly any longer, DC Comics plans to keep making special issues and mini-series reports 13th Dimension. The first is a crossover with characters from another classic 1960s show, The Man from UNCLE. Starring Robert Vaughn, David McCallum and Leo G. Carroll, that NBC show ran for four seasons, from 1964 until 1968.
The first issue of Batman ’66 Meets The Man from UNCLE went on sale in comic stores last week and there will be five more issues. Here’s a preview:
What do you think? Would you have liked to have seen this team-up on the TV shows? Could it have worked? What other classic TV team-ups would be fun to see?
