TV show description:
Superheroes Batman (Adam West) and Robin (Burt Ward) are called into action to protect Gotham City from colorful masterful criminals, often at the request of Police Commissioner Gordon (Neil Hamilton) and Chief O’Hara (Stafford Repp). Batgirl (Yvonne Craig) joined the team in the third season.

Frequent foes include The Joker (Cesar Romero), The Riddler (Frank Gorshin), The Penguin (Burgess Meredith), King Tut (Victor Buono), and Catwoman (Julie Newmar, later Eartha Kitt).

In their true identities, the crimefighters are actually millionaire philanthropist Bruce Wayne and his youthful ward Dick Grayson. They’re aided by faithful butler Alfred (Alan Napier) who is particularly helpful in keeping their heroics a secret from Dick’s elderly Aunt Harriet Cooper (Madge Blake).

Based on the comic book characters, this campy show offers high adventure for the kids while slipping in astute satire and humor for the adults. The series was initially aired twice a week with a cliffhanger usually connecting the two episodes.
