David Hasselhoff is joining the Baywatch movie. The actor spoke in recent interviews that he would be willing to appear in the new film. He had not been asked to return yet though.
That has changed.
Dwayne Johnson, one of the stars of the film, posted a video to his Facebook on Wednesday that revealed Hasselhoff was in for the Baywatch revival.
Johnson said the following to accompany the video post, according to The Wrap:
“I WAS BORN READY!” Pleasure to officially welcome the original #BAYWATCH gangsta himself David Hasselhoff to our movie! #BAYWATCH is the most successful TV show of all time and from the day we announced we were turning it into a movie, ‘The Hoff; has been our greatest supporter.”
The film will feature Johnson has an older lifeguard teaming up with a younger lifeguard, played by Zac Efron. The two will try to stop an environmental disaster. The film is currently set for a May 2017 release.
