Fans of Beauty and the Beast don’t have to worry about their show being cancelled this time around. Despite a big drop in the ratings, The CW renewed the series for both a third and a fourth season. Will the network execs regret the decision if the numbers fall even lower? Could they change their minds and cancel it anyway? Stay tuned.

On Beauty and the Beast, a beautiful detective (Kristin Kreuk), navigates her evolving relationship with a handsome doctor (Jay Ryan) who becomes a terrifying beast. Others in the cast are Austin Basis, Nina Lisandrello, and Nicole Gale Anderson.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival.
