TV show description:
A decent guy, Ted Crisp (Jay Harrington) runs the research and development department at Veridian Dynamics, a morally questionable company. No achievement is too far-fetched and no invention is too unorthodox for this particular company. Ted’s a single dad to seven-year-old Rose (Isabella Acres) and, though he loves his job, he begins to realize that the company’s practices are rarely on the up and up.
While dealing with the morals of his position, Ted’s also fighting an attraction to co-worker Linda Zwordling (Andrea Anders) who enjoys small but ultimately harmless acts of rebellion against Veridian. He does his best to hold back his true feelings.
Ted’s already had a brief office affair with his beautiful but emotionless boss, Veronica Palmer (Portia de Rossi). Seemingly devoid of a conscience, Veronica lets nothing get in her way when it comes to serving the company’s needs — even if it means doing morally questionable things like cryogenically freezing an employee for testing purposes.
Working in the Veridan lab are research scientists Phil and Lem (Jonathan Slavin and Malcolm Barrett). They are best friends and brilliant, when they’re not bickering. They’re responsible for many of the company’s strange miracles of science.
