BROOKLYN BBQ EXPERT SHANNON AMBROSIO BRINGS HIS PIT MASTER SKILLS DOWN SOUTH IN “BIG BAD BBQ BRAWL”

Four-Episode Series Premieres Tuesday, June 7th at 10pm ET/7pm PT on Cooking Channel

NEW YORK – May 6, 2015 – Brooklyn’s Shannon Ambrosio is one of New York’s biggest BBQ mavericks, and this summer the chef and his crew are heading out of town to put their Northern BBQ skills to the test against expert pit masters in the South in the four-episode series Big Bad BBQ Brawl. Shannon’s fiery road battle visits the BBQ scenes of Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi and South Carolina, where smoking meat low and slow is an art. Big Bad BBQ Brawl premieres Tuesday, June 7th at 10pm ET/7pm PT on Cooking Channel.

“Bringing Shannon’s BBQ skills and old school Brooklyn personality face-to-face with some of the best pit masters in the South makes Big Bad BBQ Brawl a hilarious, spirited competition that’s not afraid of a little good natured ribbing between the competitors,” said Didi O’Hearn, Senior Vice President, Programming and Development, Food Network and Cooking Channel.

Episodes are:

“Sweet and Savory Brawl” Premieres Tuesday, June 7th at 10pm ET/7pm PT.

Shannon heads to the Gulf Coast of Mississippi to challenge the guys from BBQ spot Murky Waters to a sandwich showdown. He may be the BBQ king up North, but if this city slicker wants to reign triumphant against these Southern aficionados he’ll need to find some inspiration from local flavors. Will putting his Brooklyn spin on traditional BBQ be enough to win over the judges, or will Murky Waters keep the “best in town” title?

“BBQ Chicken on the Fly Brawl” Premieres Tuesday, June 14th at 10pm ET/7pm PT.

Shannon crosses Alabama state lines for a BBQ chicken showdown against Mobile eatery Meat Boss. Owners Benny and Dara started the business just three years ago, but their BBQ dishes are already local legend. Shannon is determined to smoke the competition, but will his skills be enough to beat the Meat Boss?

“Swine and Swill Brawl” Premieres Tuesday, June 21st at 10pm ET/7pm PT.

The bustling Atlanta, Georgia food scene is the next stop and Shannon challenges innovative award-winning, family-run spot Sweet Auburn to a swine and swill showdown. Will Sweet Auburn’s Asian-inspired take on pork and a smoky cocktail take down the boys from Brooklyn or is a sweet victory in store for Shannon?

“Meat and Potato Brawl” Premieres Tuesday, June 28th at 10pm ET/7pm PT.

Shannon and his crew head down to the coastal city of Charleston, South Carolina to challenge local establishment Right on Que to a meat on the bone and potato competition. Right on Cue is famous in town for their pork, so if Shannon wants to “cue” up a win, he’s going to need some inspiration from the local flavors.

Big Bad BBQ Brawl is produced by Back Roads Entertainment.
