Billions, Shameless: Showtime Plans Early Season Premieres

Showtime’s got a surprise just in time for the new year. Variety reports that the premium cable network is releasing the season premieres for both Shameless and Billions on January 1st, weeks before their television debuts.

Season six of Shameless officially premieres on January 10th, with new drama Billions debuting January 17th.

Created by Brian Koppelman and David Levien, Billions stars Damien Lewis as a “brilliant, ambitious hedge fund king” opposite a U.S. District Attorney played by Paul Giamatti. The series also stars Maggie Siff, Malin Akerman, Toby Leonard Moore, David Costabile, and Condola Rashad.

Shameless enters its sixth season with the Gallagher family at odds with each other. Emmy Rossum returns as Fiona Gallagher, the eldest sister of the South Side Chicago clan, in addition to William H. Macy as father Frank, Jeremy Allen White as brother Lip, Emma Kenney as Debbie, Cameron Monaghan as Ian, and Ethan Cutkosky as Carl.

Both episodes will be available on various platforms that include: YouTube, Facebook, Hulu, iTunes, Roku, VOD, and the Showtime Anytime app.
