Blue Bloods: Petition and Ways to Support the CBS TV Show

Blue Bloods The Reagan family on Blue Bloods has experienced a lot of ups and downs in their lives but have always found a way to pull through and keep going. Unfortunately, their TV show may not survive. Its ratings, particularly in the all-important 18-49 demographic, aren’t that strong and the TV series could very well be cancelled.

What can you do? Remember, the ideal scenario for CBS is for many millions of people to watch the show on their television sets, while it’s being broadcast. Unfortunately, ratings are put together based on a sampling of viewers. If you’re a “Nielsen household,” your viewing is being counted. If not, well, it’s not.

However, if you like Blue Bloods and want to see it continue, there are a few things you can do to help.

If you’re a Nielsen family, watch the show whenever it’s on. If not, watch it on CBS.com or purchase episodes online so your viewing will be counted directly. Encourage others to watch the show. You might know a Nielsen family and not be aware of it.

Talk about the show with others; at school, at work, online, or wherever. Creating a buzz about a show that you’re invested in gets other people interested and might help bring former viewers back.

Sign the petition below and encourage others to do the same.

Write to the network. Be respectful. Everyone responds better to courtesy. Tell them how much you enjoy the show, that you’ve signed the petition, and that you want to see it continue. Take note of the products that are advertised during the show. Write the advertisers and tell them that you appreciate their sponsoring the show and that you buy their products (if you do).

The beginning of every episode of Blue Bloods shows a different aerial view of New York thus setting the stage for a new episode. It's subtle but effective. With 3 scenarios to work with, (DA office, regular cop, commissioner’s office) every episode focuses on one with the other 2 being support. The cast remains virtually the same but they grow together and separately. There is no other show on television that takes such care in presentation and writing. Those are my reasons why the powers that be need to reconsider cancelling this show. It's a proven winner. Please reconsider and keep the show going.

I want to petition against the removal of our TOP SHOW, Blue Bloods. We are soooo tired of the trash offered by networks as family viewing-fare; Blue Bloods and a handful of other programs are the reason we haven't dumped cable. Coming from a law enforcement/military/legal family, it is difficult to find programs that accurately reflect our lives, values and experiences. Our nation is hungry for examples of Honesty, Ìntegrity, Reliability, Love and Devotion. Please keep this program on, and make more like it!

My husband is housebound due to his disability because of Agent Orange exposure in Vietnam. His favorite show is Blue Bloods. He watches it every week and all day Wednesdays on ION. Please do not take this program off the air. I can tell you now that CBS programming will not be on our 'must watch' list if Blue Bloods is discontinued. No No don't cancel this famtastic show!This is a great show on family values, life's lessons,and police drama. The acting is great and excellent on how they teach morals and family values which is what we need more of. The actors themselves don't want this show to cancel,doesn't that tell you something? I have watched this show from day 1 and even reruns over and over again,words can't begin to say how excellent this show really is, CBS is dumb to cancel and replace it with what, some more stupid realaty shows or sex or sit coms? No other shows have lasted 21+ years let's have this one just as long. With it lasting this long it should tell you something as what people want.

Please bring back Blue Bloods on CBS and ION. The show is the highlight of my week. Blue Bloods is my favorite TV show. Television programing these days is much to be desired and the networks seem to be making the programming worse. It's almost to the point of not watching at all. The few shows that me and my family enjoy have been canceled or switched around to different times, channels. It's intruded on our family time. As we like to pile up and get comfy, make popcorn and watch the shows we enjoy a couple times a week. Family time is very rare these days. But it's a tradition and ritual we've had in years past. And would like to continue in future years to come. Please don't take the small pleasures away. Life is bleak enough as is. Thank you, The Watkins Family North Carolina
