TV show description:
This comedy series is set in Los Angeles and revolves around Falklands War veteran and broadcaster Walter Blunt (Patrick Stewart). He’s a British import who’s intent on conquering the world of American cable news as well as the fallout from his well-intentioned but mostly misguided decision-making, both on and off the air.

Through the platform of his nightly cable news show called Blunt Talk, Blunt is on a mission to impart his wisdom and guidance on how Americans should live, think and behave.

The show’s executive producer is Rosalie Winter (Jacki Weaver). She oversees Blunt and his eccentric staff with a mix of ferocity and tenderness. On the surface she is a bastion of strength, but underneath she’s a vulnerable romantic who is becoming increasingly alarmed by the rapid changes in her home life.

Jim Stone (Timm Sharp) is a senior producer on the show. He’s an intellectual who does great work behind the camera while hoping one day to be in front of it. As his dreams and desires emerge, so do a laundry list of neuroses that he must struggle to overcome.

Another senior producer, Celia Havemeyer (Dolly Wells) is intent on impressing Blunt, whom she has admired for many years. However, to the detriment of her career, her impulsive spirit causes a chaotic personal life.

Despite only being a segment producer, Shelly Forbes (Mary Holland) is an eager firecracker. She’s hell-bent on making her mark in the news world. She is aggressive in her professional life, constantly angling for an opportunity to move up the ladder, and equally aggressive in her sexually adventurous private life.

Martin Bassi (Karan Soni) is a struggling producer who’s still struggling to fit in. As the daunting age of 28 looms over him, he seeks solace in the motherly embraces of Rosalie, the show’s executive producer.

Besieged by network bosses, a dysfunctional news staff, numerous ex-wives and children of all ages, Blunt’s only support is the heavy-drinking, devoted manservant he transplanted from the UK to join him in Los Angeles — Harry Chandler (Adrian Scarborough). He’s Blunt’s confidant, brother-in-arms, and best friend. He loves drinking and gambling, but neither of these match his unflinching loyalty to his boss.

Series Finale:
Episode #20 — Is This All Because I Didn’t Call You
Following a final confrontation with the Rudolphs, Walter must find a way to make his case to the people of Los Angeles.
