Two legends are stopping by Bones. TVLine reports Ed Asner and Hal Holbrook will guest star in the FOX series’ final season.
The crime drama, which stars Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz, will return for a shortened 12th and final season next year. The cast also includes Michaela Conlin, Tamara Taylor, TJ Thyne, and John Boyd.
In season 12, Asner will play “Mike Mancuso, a seemingly kindly man who turns out to be quite the slippery, deceptive and duplicitous wise guy” while Holbrook has been cast as “Red Fletcher, a Marine Corp veteran who possesses a strong and silent demeanor — think Agent Booth (David Boreanaz) in about 40 years.”
The final season of Bones is set to premiere in early 2017.
