Bored to Death: HBO Renews TV Series for Season Two

It seems the Seinfeld reunion on Curb Your Enthusiasm is working out well for all involved. Not only are fans of the popular sitcom getting to see the “fab four” reunite but Curb just scored its highest ratings in five years. A little of that attention has also rubbed off on HBO’s Bored to Death.

Bored to Death stars Jason Schwartzman as a struggling writer who becomes a private detective. The series also stars Ted Danson, Zach Galifinakis, Heather Burns, and Olivia Thirlby.

The comedy airs alongside Curb and last Sunday night’s episode brought the show its highest rating to date. Over a million viewers tuned in to watch episode three of Bored (1.5 million if you factor in the replay). That’s twice as many people as who tuned in the previous Sunday. HBO also says that over 4 million people have watched the pilot episode if you count all of the repeat airings.

Season one of Bored is made up of just six episodes and is expected to finish airing this month. It’s unclear how many installments have been ordered for season two but you can expect to see them in 2010.

What do you think? Are glad to hear that the show will be back or is Bored a snoozer for you?
