Is the next season of Broadchurch the last? A recent RadioTimes article hinted that season three may be the last for the ITV crime drama.
Created by Chris Chibnall, the British series stars David Tennant and Olivia Colman as detectives who are tasked with investigating the murder of a boy in a small town.
In November, we reported that Chibnall was writing a third season of the drama. However, recent news suggests that may be the final season.
Just last week, it was announced that Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat was leaving after the show’s next season. It was later revealed that Chibnall would be taking over for the popular BBC sci-fi series once Moffat leaves. So where does that leave Broadchurch?
Nothing official has been announced, but Moffat did say “Chris is doing his last run of Broadchurch” in a recent RadioTimes article, suggesting season three may be the end for the series.
The article also added that Chibnall’s first season as Doctor Who showrunner won’t begin until 2018. No word yet on when season three of Broadchurch will premiere.
