TV show description:
A drama that follows the multi-generational Walker family after the unexpected death of patriarch William (guest Tom Skerritt). His death causes several secrets to come out, most notably that he had a longtime mistress (Patricia Wettig) with a daughter (Emily VanCamp).

These secrets cause a great deal of strife for mother Nora (Sally Field) and her adult children; working mother Sarah (Rachel Griffiths), businessman Tommy (Balthazar Getty), gay lawyer Kevin (Matthew Rhys), recovering drug addict Justin (Dave Annable), and Kitty (Calista Flockhart) who is the communications director for US Senator Robert McCallister (Rob Lowe). Nora’s brother, Saul Holden (Ron Rifkin) helps run the Walker family business, Ojai Food Co.

Kevin rushes to plan Sarah’s wedding and Luc is disappointed that his father doesn’t attend and blames his mother. Justin worries that his relationship with Tyler is too complicated until she tells him that she wants to put him first. Kitty discovers she is pregnant but Seth is worried it could affect her health. Sarah becomes stressed about everyone else’s problems until she talks and bonds with Brody. This leads her to ask him to give her away at the wedding and give her blessing to his relationship with Nora. Saul and Jonathan decide to get married.
