Bug Bites: Animated Science Series Coming in 2016

Bug Bites

American Public Television is buggin’ out. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the syndication network is partnering with Alegra Entertainment and Putnam Stern Enterprises for a new science series, Bug Bites.

The animated education series will be hosted by entomologist Adam Lazarus and character Gilbert the Roach.

Bug Bites will focus on more than just bugs. Its will cover all manner of science, tech, math, and conservation topics in an effort to spark children’s interest in STEM (science, tech, engineering, and math) subjects.

All 26 half-hour episodes of Bug Bites will premiere on American Public Television in 2016.

Lazarus, on Bug Bites:

The National Science Foundation ranks U.S. students at twenty-third in the world in science and thirty-first in math. We created Bug Bites to make a difference in the way kids see these dynamic subjects — the subjects that lead to careers that can really change the world.”

What do you think? Would you let your kids watch Bug Bites? Do you wish there were more science education shows on air?
