My So-Called Life aired for one short season on ABC, but 20 years later the series is still considered a cult classic. The series launched the career of Claire Danes. The series cast also featured Jared Leto, Bess Armstrong, and Wilson Cruz.
Fans of the short-lived series have always wondered what would have happened next on the series. The series ended with Angela driving off with Jordan and her father starting an affair.
Bess Armstrong revealed a few things about the plans for season two in an interview with Vanity Fair. She said:
“[Creator] Winnie [Holzman] had told me that, because Graham was beginning that affair, I know I was going to go into a major depression. I know that she told me that the thing which was going to force Angela to become more of the adult in the household. I swear on a stack of Bibles, she did tell me this. And Angela was going to be forced to become more of the adult. What was ultimately going to get Patty up and out of her depression was something terrible that was happening to Rickie. Rickie was somehow going to be in trouble, and that was going to be what got her up and out of bed.”
Bess Armstrong has moved on from My So-Called Life with roles on Mad Men and House of Lies. Claire Danes returned to television with Homeland on Showtime. Were you a fan of My So-Called Life? Did you want a second season? Tell us what you think.
