When Calls the Heart TV show on Hallmark: ratings (cancel or renew?)Last year, Hallmark Channel cancelled Cedar Cove after three seasons. Interestingly, the show’s third season ratings were nearly identical to those from season two of When Calls the Heart. Is When Calls the Heart in danger? Will the ratings rise or fall this time around? Cancelled or renewed for season four? Stay tuned.

A historical drama, When Calls the Heart follows Elizabeth Thatcher (Erin Krakow), a young teacher who’s been accustomed to the world of high society. Her life changes dramatically when she receives her first classroom assignment in a small coal mining town. The cast also includes Daniel Lissing, Lori Loughlin, Chelah Horsdal, Mitchell Kummen, Gracyn Shinyei, and Martin Cummins.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.

Note: Though Hallmark promoted season three as starting on February 21st, the two-hour movie that aired in December 2015 has a season three production number and Hallmark has included it as part of season three on their website. It’s for these reasons that we’re listing the movie’s ratings as part of season three.

For comparisons: The second season of When Calls the Heart averaged a 0.14 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.67 million viewers.
