George Lopez (Lopez Tonight) is working behind the scenes for a change and is developing a comedy project that’s based on the life of comedian Mark Viera. In the FOX sitcom, Viera will be playing a blue-collar guy who buys a building in the Bronx and tries to teach his son some street-smarts.
Bobby Cannavale (Cupid) is guest starring on ABC’s Modern Family as the former clown partner of Cam’s alter ego, Fizbo. The episode will air in early 2012. Cannavale just finished wrapping a 10-episode arc on the upcoming fourth season of Showtime’s Nurse Jackie.
And speaking of Cupid, The Hallmark Channel has announced the premiere of a new TV movie of the same name. Joely Fisher (‘Til Death) stars as a workaholic TV talk show host who’s worried that she’ll never find true love. A mysterious stranger (Ghost Whisperer’s Jamie Kennedy) shows up and things start to happen. The movie, slated to air February 11th, also stars Roark Critchlow (V) and Rebecca McFarland (Working).
Hallmark had such great success with their Goodnight for Justice movie that they’ve made a sequel. Luke Perry (Beverly Hills, 90210) returns as Circuit Judge John Goodnight, a character he created, in Goodnight For Justice: The Measure of a Man. Other performers include Cameron Bright (Stargate SG-1), Stefanie von Pfetten (These Arms of Mine), Teach Grant (The Guard), and Eric Keenleyside (Hellcats). The Western premieres on January 28th.
Kyle Bornheimer (Worst Week) is set to guest on an episode of NBC’s new comedy series, Bent. The show revolves around a tough, recently divorced single mother (Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip’s Amanda Peet) who finds unexpected chemistry with a womanizing construction worker (100 Questions’ David Walton), who she hires to redo her kitchen. Bornheimer will play a neighbor who’s driven crazy by the renovation noise. Walton and Bornheimer previously worked together on NBC’s short-lived Perfect Couples.
All My Children’s Cameron Mathison is moving from Pine Valley to Wisteria Lane. He’ll be playing one of Bree’s lovers in an upcoming episode of Desperate Housewives. The episode is expected to air in January.
Robin Givens (Head of the Class) will be appearing in a March episode of ABC’s Suburgatory. She’ll play a longtime rival of Dallas (Cheryl Hines) from her sorority days. Years ago, she made a point to make Dallas’ life a living hell.
Look for Kathy Griffin (Suddenly Susan) to visit NBC’s Whitney in early 2012. She’ll be playing a co-worker of Whitney’s friend, Roxanne. Whitney will do her best to win over Griffin’s character when she ends up becoming Roxanne’s new assistant.
She visited 90210 and Drop Dead Diva and now, Brandy (Moesha) is coming to The Game. She’ll be playing Chardonnay, a “sassy bartender” who becomes a love interest for Jason (Third Watch vet Coby Bell).
