TV show description:
Elizabeth Canterbury (Julianna Margulies) is a tough and driven Rhode Island attorney. She puts her career on the line to take on risky and unpopular cases, even when they take a toll on her personal life.

At the same time, Elizabeth and her law professor husband, Matt Furey (Aidan Quinn), are struggling to put their lives and relationship back together following the unsolved disappearance of their young son. This healing is made all the more difficult by Elizabeth’s work which is a painful reminder of the absence of justice in their personal lives.

At the office, Elizabeth has surrounded herself with a brilliant but controversial team of attorneys. Russell Krauss (Ben Shenkman) was forced out of the Attorney General’s Office when he locked horns with his morally corrupt boss. With a damaged reputation, he turned to his longtime friend who was the only lawyer in Providence willing to take him in. Now Russell provides a much-needed voice of reason for Elizabeth even when she doesn’t want to hear it.

Associates Chester Grant (Keith Robinson) and Molly McConnell (Trieste Kelly Dunn) round out the Canterbury team. Chester is a congressman’s son who has turned his back on both his father and his father’s politics. Headstrong and passionate, Molly is quick to take sides — even if she finds herself in the opposite corner from Canterbury.
