Netflix is taking you to the real-life world of hostage negotiations. Deadline reports the streaming service has ordered a new docu-series titled Captive.
The eight-episode series comes from award-winning producers Simon and Jonathan Chinn.
Captive will explore the high-stress environment of hostage situations. Each episode will examine real-life cases from around the world, focusing on the perspective of all participants, from victims to kidnappers to veteran hostage negotiators.

Hostage taking is an issue that people are familiar with, but apart from those directly involved, nobody really knows much about. Each episode of Captive will reflect the tension that arises from the life and death stakes involved but also truly reveal the complexity inherent in every hostage crisis.”
Netflix has not announced a release date yet.
