TV show description:
On this reality series, a dozen teams of two enter the Hunting Grounds, a high-tech wilderness compound. They must live there in primitive conditions for one month in a winner-take-all battle to survive. At the mercy of the Game Master, the teams compete against each other for scarce resources and a $250,000 grand prize.
Each episode, different teams are designated as the Hunters. The teams being hunted live on limited rations and wear high-tech equipment that forces them to stay constantly on the move. Hunger and exhaustion are very real problems. Additional food can be found at the Supply Station, but since the Hunters may have the area staked out at any time, a visit to the Station can be extremely risky.
Emotions run high and sabotage is common as the teams all work to stay on the move and out of the range of the Hunters. The individual teams work through the tension and tough conditions, but relationships can be pushed to the breaking point.
Meanwhile, the Hunters are using strategy and GPS technology to track down the other teams and tag them. They do this by activating a pulsating device known as the Talon. When the Hunters have two teams in captivity, the rest of the competitors vote on who stays and who goes.
As the game progresses and teams are eliminated, the Game Master introduces new obstacles and opportunities for teams to sabotage the other hunted teams.
In the end, only one team will walk away with the large cash prize.
Episode #10 — The Final Countdown
After weeks of strategizing to secure food and evade capture, the end is in sight. Exhausted and hungry, the final teams must find the strength for one last hunt. The red team of neighbors Rob Anderson and Jacob Kosior come in third. The teal team of twins Jade and Nikita Ramsey come in second. The green team of Antoine Burton and Kareem Dawson, two 21-year-old friends from Philadelphia, won the competition and $25,000 in cash.
First aired: September 25, 2013.
