As last season of Castle proved, the relationship of author Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Detective Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) is anything but smooth. The rest of the cast includes Jon Huertas, Seamus Dever, Tamala Jones, Molly Quinn, Penny Johnson Jerald, and Susan Sullivan.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. Final season averages: 1.57 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 8.47 million total viewers.

For comparisons: The sixth season of Castle averaged a 2.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.18 million total viewers.
