Telly’s Take

Caught on Camera with Nick Cannon earns quite low ratings for NBC. At the same time, it may well be its least expensive entertainment program. By the time the network renewed it for a third season in mid-May 2016, the season two week-to-week numbers were in line with this season’s average ratings. I’m now circling this show in anticipation of a cancellation, but not just because of its anemic ratings. Nick Cannon has announced he’s quit the America’s Got Talent TV show, saying NBC threatened termination, over a joke he told in his Showtime stand-up comedy special. If he and The Peacock Network don’t mend their fences, I expect Caught on Camera with Nick Cannon to be cancelled, rather than renewed for a fourth season.
