Deadline reports CBS is developing a multi-camera comedy written by The Newsroom‘s Corinne Kingsbury. The untitled project hails from CBS TV Studios and Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment. The Newsroom was effectively cancelled when it was renewed for a third and final season by HBO and ended in 2014.
According to the report, the new potential TV series features, “…a young married couple that deals with the husband’s overbearing parents. Kingsbury and Kaplan executive produce with two former top comedy executives-turned-producers, CBS’ Wendi Trilling and 20th TV’s Dana Honor.”
Kingsbury, Noelle Valdivia, and Brillstein Entertainment Partners also have the Purgatory-set Elsewhere TV show in development at TV Land.
