CBS TV Show Ratings for 2012-13 Season, Week Six

CBS touts their ratings for the sixth week of the 2012-13 season, from October 29th through November 4th.

They’re particularly proud of the performances of 2 Broke Girls, 60 Minutes, The Amazing Race, The Big Bang Theory, Blue Bloods, Criminal Minds, CSI, CSI: NY, Elementary, The Good Wife, How I Met Your Mother, The Mentalist, Mike & Molly, NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles, Partners, Person of Interest, Survivor, Two and a Half Men, Undercover Boss, and Vegas.

CBS placed first in viewers and adults 25-54 (tie) for the fifth time in six weeks, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Nov. 4, Week Six of the 2012-2013 season.

CBS topped second-place NBC by 3 million viewers, the Network’s largest margin of victory this season. CBS was up +5% in viewers compared to the same week last year.

CBS had four of the week’s top five programs in viewers – NCIS (#2), 60 MINUTES (#3), NCIS: LOS ANGELES (#4) and THE BIG BANG THEORY (#5) – as well as six of the top 10 – PERSON OF INTEREST (#9) and TWO AND A HALF MEN (#10).

THE BIG BANG THEORY was the week’s top scripted program in adults 18-49, hitting a season-high 5.2 rating, while CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION delivered its largest audience since April, topping its freshman competitors “Nashville” and “Chicago Fire” in both views and key demographics.

The fourth season premiere of UNDERCOVER BOSS improved CBS’s Friday (8:00-9:00 PM) time period average by +25% in adults 18-49.

For the week in viewers: CBS (11.57m), NBC (8.57m), ABC (8.20m) and FOX (4.51m). Season-to-date: CBS (11.75m), ABC (8.97m), NBC (8.61m) and FOX (7.18m).

For the week in key demographics, CBS was tied for first in adults 25-54 (3.6/09, with NBC) and a solid second in adults 18-49 (2.8/08). Compared to Week Six last year, CBS was up +6% in households, +5% in viewers and even in adults 18-49. Season-to-date, CBS and NBC are tied for first in adults 25-54, NBC is first in adults 18-49 with CBS a solid second.

For the week in households: CBS (7.3/12), NBC and ABC (5.2/08, each) and FOX (2.7/04). Season-to-date: CBS (7.5/12), ABC (5.8/09), NBC (5.4/09) and FOX (4.4/07).

CBS Weekly Highlights:

Due to Hurricane Sandy, most programs on Monday to Saturday were considered breakouts by Nielsen.

NCIS (B) was first in households (11.8/18) and viewers (18.83m), and was second in both adults 25-54 (5.0/12) and adults 18-49 (3.4/09).

NCIS: LOS ANGELES (B) was first in households (10.2/15) and viewers (16.28m), and was second in both adults 25-54 (4.0/09) and adults 18-49 (2.8/07).

VEGAS (B) was first in households (7.0/11) and viewers (10.75m), and was second in adults 25-54 (2.4/06) and adults 18-49 (1.7/04).

SURVIVOR: PHILIPPINES (B) was first in households (6.1/10), viewers (9.83m), adults 25-54 (3.5/10) and adults 18-49 (2.5/08).

CRIMINAL MINDS (B) was first in households (7.4/12) and viewers (11.99m), was second in adults 25-54 (3.9/09) and was tied for second in adults 18-49 (2.9/08, with FOX).

CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION (B) was first in households (7.1/12), viewers (10.91m), adults 25-54 (3.2/08) and adults 18-49 (2.4/07).

THE BIG BANG THEORY (B) was first in households (9.6/15), viewers (15.90m), adults 25-54 (6.5/17), adults 18-49 (5.2/15) and adults 18-34 (3.8/13). THE BIG BANG THEORY was the night’s #1 program in households, viewers, adults 25-54, adults 18-49 and adults 18-34.

TWO AND A HALF MEN (B) was first in adults 25-54 (4.8/11), and second in households (7.8/12), viewers (12.65m) and adults 18-49 (3.6/10).

PERSON OF INTEREST (B) was second in households (8.4/13), viewers (13.60m), adults 25-54 (4.0/09) and adults 18-49 (2.9/07), behind the CMAs.

ELEMENTARY (B) (10:01-11:00 PM) was second in households (6.8/11), viewers (10.49m), adults 25-54 (3.2/08) and adults 18-49 (2.4/06), behind the CMAs.

UNDERCOVER BOSS (B) (P) was second in households (5.2/09), viewers (7.96m), adults 25-54 (2.2/06) and adults 18-49 (1.5/05).

CSI: NY (B) was first in households (6.5/11) and viewers (10.05m).

BLUE BLOODS (B) was first in households (7.3/13), viewers (11.05m) and adults 25-54 (2.2/06), and was second in adults 18-49 (1.3/04).

— On Saturday, CBS, with HOME DEPOT PRIME COLLEGE FOOTBALL “Alabama Crimson Tide at LSU Tigers” (S), was first in households, viewers, key men and key adult demographics from 8:00-11:00 PM.

From 8:00-11:00 PM, CBS posted the Network’s best Saturday primetime delivery in households, viewers, adults 25-54, adults 18-49, adults 18-34, men 25-54, men 18-49 and men 18-34 since March 31, 2012 (Final Four Saturday).

HOME DEPOT PRIME COLLEGE FOOTBALL scored a 6.8/12 in households with 11.35m viewers, 4.7/13 in adults 25-54, 4.0/13 in adults 18-49, 3.1/12 in adults 18-34, 6.3/17 in men 25-54, 5.3/17 in men 18-49 and 4.1/16 in men 18-34 from 8:00-11:55 PM.

— On Sunday, CBS’s late-running football averaged a 16.9/27 with 28.45m viewers, 10.8/26 in adults 25-54 and 9.5/27 in adults 18-49 from 7:00-7:34 PM.

60 MINUTES (7:34-8:34 PM) was first in households (10.2/15), viewers (16.30m) and adults 25-54 (4.8/10), and was second in adults 18-49 (3.4/08). 60 MINUTES posted its best deliveries in households and viewers since Jan. 8, 2012.

THE AMAZING RACE 21 (8:34-9:34PM) was second in households (6.3/09) and viewers (10.20m), tied for second in adults 25-54 (3.6/07, with ABC) and averaged 2.6/06 in 18-49. Compared to last week, THE AMAZING RACE 21 was up +13% in households (from 5.6/08), +3% in adults 25-54 (from 3.5/07), +4% in adults 18-49 (from 2.5/06) and +790,000 viewers (from 9.41m, +8%).
