Chicago Med, Heartbreaker, Blindspot: NBC Orders Three New Drama Series for 2015-16

Chicago Med TV show on NBCNBC has announced three new dramatic TV shows for the 2015-16 season — Chicago Med, Heartbreaker, and Blindspot.

Chicago Med, a spin-off of Dick Wolf’s Chicago Fire series, will revolve around the city’s most explosive hospital and the brave staff that run it. The show’s cast will include Oliver Platt, S. Epatha Merkerson, Laurie Holden, Nick Gehlfuss and Yaya Dacosta. This will bring prolific producer Wolf’s number of NBC shows back to four, joining Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, and Law & Order Special Victims Unit.

Heartbreaker (which was known as Heart Matters in the pilot stage) is another medical drama and is based on the real life of Doctor Kathy Magliato. In the series, Melissa George will play Doctor Alex Panttiere, an outspoken and very talented female-heart transplant surgeon — one of the few in the field. Others in the cast are Dave Annable, Don Hany, Shelley Conn, D.L. Hughley, Jamie Kennedy, Maya Erskine, J. Louis Mills and Joshua Leonard.

Finally, Blindspot is a mystery drama that follows an international plot. The story begins when a beautiful woman is found naked, without a memory of her identity, and covered with strange tattoos in Times Square. The name of FBI agent Kurt Weller is written on her back. She, Weller, and other FBI agents soon realize that the other tattoos are keys to solving crimes. The cast includes Sullivan Stapleton, Jaimie Alexander, Audrey Esparza, Rob Brown, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Ukweli Roach and Ashley Johnson.

What do you think? Do any of these new NBC shows sound interesting? Will you be watching?
