CHiPs aired for six seasons on NBC before it ended. A film project has been in the works since last year, and now that film production has a further incentive to move forward.
Deadline reported that the California Film Commission has given CHiPs and 10 other films tax incentives to film in California.
The original series starred Larry Wilcox and Erik Estrada. The film revival will star Dax Shepherd and Michael Pena. Shepherd will also write and direct the feature film.
